Staffordshire light blue transfer 10" rim soup in "Italian Scenery" pattern by John Meir & Son, 1837-50. References: Further examples of the Italian Scenery series by Meir are illustrated in A.W. Coysh and R.K. Henrywood, Blue and White Printed Pottery 1780-1880 page 194-195.
Spode Botanical Pattern Plate 1826-1833
This early 19th Century Blue and White Transfer printed Plate was made by Spode.It is in the series of Botanical prints of British Flowers that was introduced around 1828. The Spode mark is impressed on the reverse with a number "28". There is also a Spode mark in Underglaze Blue and another Blue workmans mark.The plate is in good condition, no cracks,chips or restoration. Size:9.75" in diameter
